Holiday Decorating at IW Shelters

Expired

Description

United Way of the National Capital Area is partnering with Interfaith Works to support a volunteer opportunity within their shelters.

Interfaith Works supports our neighbors in need by providing vital services and a pathway to greater stability.

Spots are limited and registration is required - Reserve your spot today!

Help Interfaith Works create a winter wonderland for our clients in our shelters. The holiday season can be very difficult for our clients, and a cozy, decorated shelter can help comfort and ease clients during this time. We are looking for general winter or holiday themed decor, nothing specific to one holiday.

Event Details

Please plan to arrive by 10 am to begin this project. Wear clothes and shoes in which you are comfortable moving around and hanging holiday decorations. Young adults (15 and up) are welcome to register alongside another parent volunteer. Each volunteer, regardless of age, should have their own account and register individually for this event.

There is limited street parking available onsite and the building is accessible - no stairs. While lunch will not be provided, a break for lunch can be arranged if the project extends over or through lunch time.

While Interfaith Works will provide some winter decorations, they are inviting volunteers to donate their own fun, cheery holiday decor items to decorate the buildings.
