VA: Mandarin Translators

Expired

Description

Project Community Connect provides essential services to those at risk of or experiencing homelessness and the ALICE population. Join us to support our pop-up resource fair in Maryland!

Mandarin Translators are essential to a smooth event. You will connect with participants in a variety of ways, pairing with a family or individual who would like support with language translation while talking to different vendors. Conversations could include answering general questions about event logistics, expressing participant's needs to vendors, discussing topics like health, utilities, housing, and other topics. You will also support event set-up or break-down and may fill in for other project tasks as needed.

Event Details

This event is hosted by Gunston Middle School in their main, larger gym (near the soccer fields). There is plenty of parking in the school's lots. You will be standing, moving, and possibly lifting lightweight boxes and bags. Please dress appropriately in closed-toe shoes and comfortable business-casual clothing. If you already have a United Way NCA Live United shirt, please wear it.

Once you arrive, check-in at the volunteer table to receive details on your role.

Each volunteer participating in this event must be signed-up on their own account.
