United Way of the National Capital Area is presently hosting a Project Community Connect (PCC) Cold Weather Kit Packing Party to assemble a total of 1,500 cold weather kits containing a warm blanket, socks, and personal winter accessories such as hat, scarf and gloves, which will be distributed at PCC pop-up events during the week of October 3 and to nonprofit partners across the region for further community distribution. These kits will go to individuals and families identifying as ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) and those experiencing homelessness. Volunteers are needed on Wednesday, September 28 to assist in sorting the items mentioned and assembling them into individual cold weather kits. Please consider joining us for a fun (and meaningful) morning of getting our cold weather kits ready for distribution next month. Upon registration for the September 28 Cold Weather Kit Packing Party, you will receive a final event email (detailing final details and logistics) on Monday, September 26. If you have any questions about the Packing Party, please contact Levina Kim at lkim@uwnca.org and Claudia Beaugard at cbeaugard@uwnca.org. We look forward to seeing you on September 28!
