
United Way of the National Capital Area needs assistance in preparing various donation items for distribution as part of our annual Project Community Connect event .Volunteers will help pack and prepare Snack Kits for distribution to multiple sites in the DMV region.
United Way NCA aims to provide kits for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the National Capital Area. As part of fulfilling that commitment, United Way NCA has created a volunteer opportunity to pack kits for our annual Project Community Connect event.
- 9:30 AM – 9:45 AM: Check-In/Registration Begins
- 10:00 AM: Volunteer activities begin
- 12:00 PM: Volunteer activities End
- 12:35 PM: Volunteers and Staff Leave site
COVID-19 Volunteer Engagement Protocols:
- Hygiene/Cleaning – All surfaces and materials will be cleaned following current state A sanitizing station will be set up at the registration table and will include disinfectant spray, sanitizing wipes, sanitizing cleaning spray, and paper towels. Volunteers will be encouraged to wash hands frequently with soap and water or sanitizing wipes and to social distance when in common spaces.
- Waiver and Consent – Completion of the United Way NCA Volunteer waiver is required from each volunteer prior to the project and will be kept on file with United Way NCA Human Resources office. The Volunteer Manager will review each waiver upon Any volunteers refusing to consent to any of the questions will be prevented from participating or asked to leave the volunteer project site.
- Attendance Sheet – The Volunteer Manager will take attendance at each project and compare it with completed waivers. A blank waiver will be given to anyone who has not turned one in; completing the waiver is required for project participation. The updated attendance sheet will become part of the project file, and a copy will be provided to United Way NCA Human Resources.
- Masks – Volunteers are required to wear face coverings.
- COVID-19 Outbreak Notification - Any notification of a COVID-19 case by a participant is to be reported to Human Resources.
