United Way of the National Capital Area supports our network of over 350 nonprofit partners in the recruitment of volunteers for our partner's projects and events. Interfaith Works supports our neighbors in need by providing vital services and a pathway to greater stability.
United Way NCA Day Of Action - Volunteer with Interfaith Works!
Interfaith Works' Shared Supportive Housing is 3 houses across Montgomery County where adult, vulnerable clients live with access to case management, vocational services, medication monitoring, and 24/7 care. Each House's 7-8 adult residents will be out and about on June 21st, so this is the perfect opportunity for volunteers to freshen up the facility with a deep clean and organization project.
Given the vulnerability of the population we serve, the address listed below is only an APPROXIMATE location. You will be provided with the houses' exact address closer to the event date after you register for the project on this site so please be prepared to serve throughout the Rockville area (including up to the Gaithersburg/Germantown border).
Each of the shifts below will be assigned to a specific house - if volunteering with friends, family, or coworkers, please use the "respond as a team" feature to ensure you are all assigned to the same house.
Shift Details
Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes - you may get a little dirty or dusty with this project. Finally, face coverings are required for all volunteers participating in this project. Limited parking is available at each of the houses - carpooling is recommended. Please bring any snacks, water, or lunch that you might wish to have during the volunteer shift. Each house will have a dedicated eating space away from the cleaning project or outside. While lunch will not be provided, there are several eateries nearby should you wish to grab something out.
